Plug me in is proud to support the green journey of Harborough District Council, delivering new public EV charging infrastructure across our local district.

Working in partnership with the Council, we installed seven new 22kW charging points across Lutterworth, Broughton Astley, Kibworth, Tugby and Loddington.

Funded through the Government’s Rural Prosperity Fund, the new chargers form part of the Council’s wider climate emergency action plan, helping reduce transport emissions across Harborough district.

A trusted local partner
Our relationship with Harborough District Council goes beyond EV charging. We’ve also delivered solar PV installations at several council sites, including leisure centres and the Harborough Innovation Centre - helping the authority cut carbon and reduce long-term energy costs.

Cllr Darren Woodiwiss, Cabinet Lead for Climate Change and Neighbourhood Services, said: “Giving EV drivers options for charging their vehicles more conveniently is an important part of our climate emergency action plan that’s geared to cutting Harborough district’s carbon emissions.

“These new chargers give local residents more options and convenience and we hope they will also encourage others to consider making the switch to an EV to help cut their carbon footprint.

“We also hope EV drivers visiting our district for business, tourism or other purposes will use these rural charging sites and perhaps spend more time in the district as a result, helping to support the local economy and keep our air cleaner.”

We’re powering the UK ahead.

Do you have a renewable energy project in mind? Let’s make it happen.

We’d love to support more local councils and community organisations across Harborough and beyond with their Solar PV and EV charging projects.
