WB Chambers Farms, solar PV
Installing a fresh and sustainable upgrade to this fruit farm’s power supply.
WB Chambers Farm Limited - Oakdene Farm
We have installed PV systems at this site over a number of years. In phase one, two roof mounted systems of 49.92kW each were installed, in a second phase a further roof mounted system of 122kW was installed and most recently the system detailed below was installed.
Size: 270.48kW
Est. Production: 243,702Wh pa
CO2 reduction: 132000 kg pa or 2518 tonnes over 20 years
Estimated Electric Site Savings: £36,588 per year based on 15p unit price
Synergising Renewables: Wind and Solar Unite
We were asked to design a Solar PV system that would help reduce the Carbon Footprint and Energy Consumption for WB Chambers Farms Limited, at Oakdene Farm in Maidstone, Kent. Based on the information provided, the site meeting and site consumption requirements, PMI proposed the installation of a 270kW Roof mounted PV system to be split over two roofs and made up of the equipment detailed below.
Fronius inverters were used which are able to provide the 100% export restriction required by the DNO. The system allows the WB Chambers full access to the Fronius Online Monitoring Platform enabling them to monitor and display generation information.
The production figures are based on estimated figures which presumed that the site would consume all the of energy generated from the PV.
The equipment included 784 QCells 345Wp solar panels installed on QCells, QMount, fixed mounting system, with 10 Fronius inverters (1 x Fronius Eco 27 full, 8x Fronius Eco 27 light and 1 x Fronius Symo 8.2 light) and a Fronius Smart Meter for online access to monitoring.
The challenge was to install the system to agreed timescales and ensuring the safety of the install team and customer site staff during the Covid-19 lockdown.
What the customer said: The project was completed promptly, in a professional manner and to our satisfaction.
