Formerly the home of the BBC, the iconic Television Centre has been redeveloped to create a luxury living, working and recreation centre in West London. We installed 114 x 327Wp solar panels on the prestigious BBC Television Centre building as part of this refurbishment and redevelopment of the buildings in 2018. The PV has been installed as part of a green roof.
The equipment included 114 Sunpower 327Wp solar panels, a Solis 15kW and a Solis 20kW inverter and Renusol ballasted mounting system.
The challenges Working on a semi-circular roof required the installation of a non-penetrative mounting system, and careful calculation of ballast requirements to ensure the system withstood the local wind loadings; in addition to working off a man-safe system whilst on the roof.
