How much space do Heat pumps take up

Q. How much space do Heat pumps take up

A. Air source heat pumps are a similar size to many other appliances you have at home already.

The outdoor unit is about the size of a small fridge - roughly 90cm high and a 1m square. Our installers will work with you to make sure the unit is installed in a space that suits you.

Indoors, there's the heat exchanger and a hot water tank similar to many boilers. These will fit comfortably in a utility room, basement or garage.

Following the survey, we can advise on positioning everything neatly. With good planning, most homes can accommodate a heat pump without compromising too much space.
